Frequently Asked Questions
What kind of coaching is LINAW?
LINAW is considered as art-based transformational coaching or therapeutic art life coaching, which integrates intuitive art creation as a powerful tool for self-understanding and enriching coaching conversations. By embracing openness, intuitive art allows individuals to tap into hidden aspects of themselves, often residing in the unconscious. This deeper exploration provides personal insights that can guide us to create meaningful changes in our lives.
How is this different from mentoring or art therapy?
Art-based transformational coaching is different from mentoring as our focus is NOT on teaching you how to draw or make art. Instead, we engage in creating intuitive art together. It's important to note that there will be no interpretation or diagnosis of your artwork after its creation. Throughout the process, you will receive continuous support. The artwork will only be a tool to deepen our coaching conversation and for your deeper self-reflection.
In the event that you express an interest or have a need for therapy or intervention, we have mental health partners who can be referred to accordingly.
Do I need any prior art experience or skills to participate in LINAW?
No, LINAW does not require any previous experience with art or artistic skills. Even simple lines and shapes can hold personal meaning for individuals. If you're open and willing to embrace intuitive art as a tool for deepening your self-understanding, LINAW is for you.
Where do you usually hold your sessions?
The venue for coaching sessions can be decided during the contracting phase. Typically, sessions take place in a serene location like UP Diliman Lagoon or a chosen park in Metro Manila, allowing you to connect with nature. Alternatively, sessions can be conducted in a quiet café, the coach's office, or even your own home.
The key is to have a conducive environment for guided meditation, art creation, and meaningful conversations.
Additionally, online sessions are available and conducted through platforms like Zoom or Google Meet.
What happens to the artworks created during the sessions?
After the session, artworks will not be interpreted or judged. They serve as a reflection of what you needed to express, and their personal meaning is unique to you, shaped by your life experiences. All forms of art expression are welcome and encouraged. The artworks will not be used for any public exhibit. You have the option to keep your artworks, but they may also be documented through pictures for reference in future sessions or personal reflection.
